About the Art of K-Pop Dance Doodle
This Doodle celebrates Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month by shining a light on the American K-pop dance community—where global fandoms connect through local artistry.
The artwork explores Random Play Dance (RPD) events where fans gather in public spaces to perform their favorite choreography together. Set to LE SSERAFIM’s song “Celebration” with choreography interpreted by LA-based K-pop dance team SHERO, the Doodle captures the spontaneous energy of an RPD set at an LA Korea Town mall. The Doodle follows fans from different backgrounds as they perform an RPD, and highlights the role dance plays in their everyday lives, showcasing the power of dance in creating community.
